The Online Editor requires minimal computer knowledge and empowers users with an elegant yet powerful application for easy online personalization. The tools allow an end user to open and save projects to his/her account, perform multiple undo and redo edits, cut, copy, paste and delete , spell check, configure tooltips, toggle bleed area, use rulers and guides, arrange layered items, group, as well as use of alignment controls. A zoom navigator tool allows for simple non-scroll viewing. You can easily navigate pages and optional items like layouts, backgrounds, clip art, text input boxes, properties, and effects.

Text controls for editing font options such as size, scale, style, alignment, leading, kerning, wrapping, color, positioning and rotation are fully configurable. Text placeholder options are "wrap", "non wrap" and "scale to fit".

Provides configurable image controls for editing images, including features such as scaling, rotation, positioning, cropping, and borders around images. Users can apply image effects like opacity control, drop shadows, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation and blur/sharpening. Photo placeholder options are "fit to box", "fit to mask" and "scale to fit".

The photo library helps organize digital photos for products being ordered online. Administrators can either lock down albums they manage or allow users to create their own personal albums and uploaded photos. Online photo editing tools can allow users to apply rotation, photo effects, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation and blur/sharpening. File support for .PDF, .EPS, .PS, .AI, SVG, .PSD, .TIF, JPG, and .PNG on upload.

Easily control what tools a user has access to with the click of a button. Control access to toggles like positioning, opacity, rotation, text and photo place holder types, alignment, leading, color changes, style options, size options and more. For text items, you can control single line or multi-line, max lines and max characters. Layers can be set to be included or not included in final print ready documents. Tabs and buttons are configurable as well as the text that is contained within them.

Proof mode in the online editor is an extremely fast and secure option for instant low-res watermarked proofs. Users can pan and zoom and proof page by page. Additional PDF proof support is optional.

The term transparency is used in various ways by different people, but at its simplest there is "full transparency" i.e. something that is completely invisible. Of course, only part of a graphic should be fully transparent, or there would be nothing to see. More complex is "partial transparency" or "translucency" where the effect is achieved whereby the graphic is partially transparent in the same way as colored glass. Transparency in PrintNow is possible in a number of graphics file formats including .PDF, .EPS, .PS, .AI, SVG, and .PNG.

Small Format support in PrintNow is any product up to 18" x 18" in size. Examples include brochures, business cards, calendars, catalogs, envelopes, flyers, greeting cards, labels/stickers, letterheads, menus, newsletters, postcards, sales sheets and more.

Large Format support in PrintNow has no restriction in size. Examples of large format products are vinyl banners, window graphics, trade show graphics, signage of all shapes and sizes, car wraps, art prints, posters, canvas photos, and more. Custom sizes, vector graphic support and pricing by the square foot are just a few features that PrintNow has built specifically for large format products.

Scalable vector graphics can be saved directly out of Illustrator CS to be used on PrintNow. This XML format can be modified so users can colorize fills and strokes online. All vector graphics are supported in and out of PrintNow.

One and two sided products are most common in web-to-print workflows and come standard in PrintNow's basic model. Support for more than two pages is required for products like photo-books and calendars.

Some products contain multiple backgrounds and layout options and PrintNow makes it simple to swap them out on the fly. Themes allow one action to change multiple backgrounds across all pages. As an alternative to using the photo library to gather photo assets, the clipart tab displays graphics specific to that product.

AdminTool administrators can set up advanced rules & validation for controlling the end user's options when inputting text and graphics into input forms in order to maintain business rules on the product.

• Admin can define a condition to be tested for text element content – i.e. total count of all rows (including blank rows), total count of characters in text element (including spaces or width of text element measured in points or inches).
• Admin can combine any number of conditions to be tested into a chain of conditions to be tested. Nested conditions will be present.
• Application can evaluate rule conditions.
• Application can apply rules to layout for image elements and text elements (execute rule actions).
• Application can handle alternate rules when the upper bounds of a rule are surpassed.
• Application can apply rules to the content of image elements.
• Application can apply rules to the content of text elements.
• Application can apply rule "scale to fit."
• Application can prevent circular rule actions so that there are no infinite loops which may break the application.

Products like pocket folders, binders, packaging, and 3D promotional items make it impossible for the user to visualize how the finished printed product will come together as a flat proof. PrintNow's 3D support provides a way for the user to personalize any product flat but proof in true 3D. Users can spin the product in any direction and zoom in to take a closer look.
